Tour Description : Throughout the school year we run courses for arts students to Northern Spain, based in coastal resorts on the Costa Brava, one hour's drive from the beautiful and architecturally rich city of Barcelona. These popular courses are designed for students with an interest in the visual arts and each tour is individually tailored to suit your group's requirements. The Costa Brava is an ideal centre, within easy reach of the galleries and sights of Barcelona, including the Picasso Museum and the architecture of Antonio Gaudi, and Figueras home of the extraordinary Teatro-Museu Salvador Dali. One of the coastal resorts, Tossa de Mar is a typical small Spanish fishing port, with a beautiful bay and beach ideal for swimming and overlooked by the ruins of a small castle. It is most picturesque and offers many opportunities for sketching. We can also offer accommodation in a city centre location in Barcelona itself. Accommodation is in a comfortable tourist class hotel, with 3 or 4 bedded rooms for students and twins for staff. All rooms are en suite and most hotels have on site swimming pools and other sporting facilities.

Sample Itinerary :
Day 1: Leaving school in the morning, we take the early evening ferry from Dover and travel on overnight through France.
Day 2: Arriving at your resort early this afternoon there is time to unpack and relax in your hotel before your evening meal. You could have a walk to explore your local surroundings.
Day 3: A full day trip to Barcelona, with a coach tour of the city sites, including the Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, the Olympic Stadium and, of course, the Ramblas. Time may be scheduled to visit specific galleries and sites as requested (entrance costs not included).
Day 4: Students work on sketching projects locally this morning. In the afternoon we visit the town of Figueras and the extraordinary Dali Museum (entrance costs not included).
Day 5: We take a second full day trip to Barcelona to visit further galleries or venues of your choice (entrance costs not included). These could include the Miro Foundation, the Picasso Museum or simply a walk around the town to look at some of the architectural wonders.
Day 6: The morning is free for last minute shopping and packing (coach not available prior to departure). We depart after lunch for the journey home.
Day 7: We arrive at Calais in the early morning and back at your school in the afternoon.

Excursions : Barcelona has a variety of galleries and museums we can book for you. Its varied architecture lends itself to spending time just wandering the streets. The most popular galleries to visit are the Picasso Museum and the Miro Foundation, both of which need booking in advance. In Figueras, the Teatre-Museu Dali is well worth a visit.
