| Sample Itinerary :
Day 1: Depart from your school by coach
and travel to Dover for the short channel crossing to
France and on to your hotel in the Greater Paris area,
arriving during the evening.
Day 2 & 3: Visits of your choice can
be arranged to any of the major art galleries in Paris.
Whether your interests are specific to one artist, an
artistic genre or specific era, we can arrange a tour
to suit you. There is also the opportunity to place
fine art in the context of contemporary developments
in sculpture and architecture. Paris also lends itself
to 'practical' art and you may choose to include a sketching
session in the grounds of Notre Dame Cathedral, at the
Trocadero or in the square at Montmartre. For a more
'surreal' experience you could visit the famous Père
La Chaise cemetery and explore the 'art' of the monuments
and memorials to such famous names as Chopin, Piaf and
Jim Morrison. As a 'fun' trip you may want to consider
a trip to Disneyland Resort®, a visit to the truly Gallic
Parc Astérix or the Sun King's Palace at Versailles.
We can also take you to visit Monet's garden at Giverny
and the American Artist's Museum there - ask for more
details. On one of the days, as requested, we will arrange
a memorable cruise down the river Seine.
Day 4: Leave Paris after breakfast
and return via Calais to your school |
| Excursions : If you
are studying the art of the Impressionists, you will
certainly want to visit the Musée
d'Orsay and probably also the Musée
Marmottan which houses a large number of Monet's
works and personal art collection. We can also take
you out to Monet's
Garden at Giverny for the day. If your interest
is in classical art, the Louvre
with its vast and diverse collection. Modern art can
be found at the Pompidou
Centre where the building itself and the lively
area around it is worth a visit. |
