When you journey through the Rhine Valley and see its endless vineyards, it’s easy to understand why the region is so famous for its wine. The Boppard Wine Festival is one of the regions most charming and lively events, that celebrates its grape harvest. The main squares are filled with wine bars and eateries and locals and tourists mingle into the evening until a dramatic firework display lights up the River Rhine.
We also explore this spectacular region with visits to Koblenz and Cochem. Koblenz is situated at the meeting points of the Rhine and Moselle rivers and full of historical attractions. On day three, we journey down the Moselle, another area of picturesque scenery, pretty towns and ancient castles to Cochem. This popular town is known as the 'Pearl of the Moselle' and embodies all that is good about the area.
