Join us on this unique short break to the quintessentially French town of Montreuil-sur-Mer, where vintage charm meets national celebration. Just an hour inland from Calais, this picturesque hilltop town transforms every July into a treasure-hunter’s paradise during its renowned Bastille Day flea market.
Wander through over 500 stalls stretching across cobbled streets, leafy squares and hidden courtyards, bursting with antiques, collectibles, vintage furniture, trinkets, homewares and more. Whether you’re searching for a rare gem, haggling like a local or simply soaking up the buzzing atmosphere — this is an unmissable date for lovers of French brocantes.
But the experience doesn’t stop there. Montreuil’s ancient ramparts and fairytale citadel provide a stunning backdrop for the Bastille Day festivities, with food stalls, music, and colourful parades filling the town with energy. As evening falls, you’ll witness a magical fireworks display, launched from the citadel and lighting up the skies above this historic town — a truly memorable way to mark France’s national holiday.
Whether you're a regular on our popular flea market trips or trying one for the first time, Montreuil offers something a little more intimate, a little more authentic — and every bit as special.
